Residential and Commercial Stump Grinding in Buckeye, AZ

If you’ve recently removed a large tree, shrub or bush the stump will remain in place unless you decide otherwise. Many people believe that once the tree has gone, putting up with a stump really isn’t such a big deal but there are some good reasons why you should consider stump grinding to get rid of the stump.

Why Stump Removal?

  • Trip hazard: stumps protruding from the ground may become a trip hazard especially for children running in your yard who may not be looking where they’re running
  • Liability: if a neighbor, friend or other visitor to your home were to trip and injure themselves you could be liable
  • New growth: new growth can occur around the stump of a cut tree or stump so if you want to stop further growth, full removal is the best option
  • Aesthetics: stumps can ruin the look of your garden, an old rotting stump even more so
  • Machinery hazard: accidentally mowing over a low level stump or far-reaching root systems can cause severe damage to lawn care equipment and other garden machinery
  • Insects: stumps, as they decay attract insects such as termites and ants which may lead to infestations inside your home
  • Space: a large tree stump (or a small one in a small yard) can take up valuable space that you could use for other planting, extending your lawn or adding a patio
  • Prevents new planting: tree stumps will prevent you from planting a new tree or other plants in the area
  • Lawn care issues: mowing around a stump is a pain and takes more time.

There are two main options if you do decide that stump removal is what you want-

  • Complete removal or
  • Stump grinding.

Differences between stump removal & stump grinding

Complete removal is what it sounds, we will dig the roots and stump out of the ground leaving you with a hole but we can fill this with soil ready for re-seeding or planting. Because we have removed the roots, it gives you bigger scope for what you use the ground for. There are no issues with re-planting since the ground is empty.

Old and well-established trees can have an extensive root system going many metres below ground, making removal a long and often labor-intensive job.

Stump grinding

uses a machine to grind the stump down to ground level, it’s quicker and less invasive but doesn’t remove the roots so if you are thinking of re-planting over the site, this might not be the best option. It is by far the quickest and less invasive of the two options.

Whichever option you chose, our professional stump removal experts will attend your garden, prepare the ground, remove or grind away the stump, clear up, remove any debris and leave your yard stump free.
